Born in Hlinne, Czechoslovakia, Michael Stoffa immigrated to America to life and began his studies as an art student at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts, the Pennsylvania Academy, and the Arts Student League. As a well-known New Jersey teacher and a Cape Ann artist, Mr. Stoffa became known as a master artist of landscapes, marinescapes, portraiture and still life.
The award-winning artist served as President of the Rockport Art Association from 1985 to 1989. He was a long-term member of the North Shore Arts Association, and a member of the Salmagundi Club, and Burr Artists. He's listed in Who's Who in American Art, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in America, and International Biography. Mr. Stoffa's work is in collections throughout the world.
